Why me?!

So... I went down to the garage to get in my car this morning to go to work and my drivers side window was smashed out! As were the two cars next to mine. Nothing was stolen, everything was just messed around in the car. I was not impressed, to say the least. I didn't get into work until 1:30 in the afternoon because I had to wait for the police to come, clean the glass out of my car and go get the window replaced. This is a picture of what my car looked like this morning:

My day brightened up when I went to visit my cousin in the hospital right after work tonight and to my suprise, he was sitting up and eating! He is doing so well! He is even able to get around a little bit with a walker. We went for a walk through the hospital to get a coffee and he walked the whole way, slowly, but he did it! We got him a wheelchair for the way back but he did awesome! He is able to go to his friend's funeral tomorrow as well! He is still in a great deal of pain, has ALOT of bruises and still has a broken pelvis and leg, but each day will get better! His head is no longer bandaged and he is off the IV so everything is going great. Here is a picture I snapped while I was there, the other guy in the picture is his brother, my other cousin:

Tonight I will sleep better knowing that Chris is on the mend. Now I am praying that tomorrow I will wake up and NOTHING will go wrong....

Not a good month...

WOW! I haven't posted anything in a month. It doesn't feel like that long. A lot has happened in the past month.. mostly bad stuff though...

  1. My friend's baby passed away on October 31st. He was only 2 months old. It was a great shock for all of us. The funeral was very sad. My friend and her husband are getting through it and they know that there are a lot of people that love them and are there for them.
  2. My cousin was in a very bad car accident. His friend died at the scene, he was 18 years old. The driver and my cousin were taken to the hospital and my cousin was in serious condition. His head is cut, his brain is bruised and they had to drain the fluid out of his head, his pelvis is broken in the front and the back, his leg is broken and he has numerous bruises and cuts. He is very lucky to be alive. I was/am so worried about him... I saw him on Sunday (the accident happened at 1:00am on Sunday) and I also went in to see him tonight, but he was sleeping so I didn't get to talk to him. I am going in again tomorrow night to see him and give him his gifts that I got him. I was going to just leave them by his bed, but I want to give them to him in person. He will be ok.

These two tragedies have really opened my eyes to how fragile life really is and how we should cherish every moment we have with our family and friends. I don't see my family enough, especially my cousins and I am going to change that.

On a happier note, today is my father's birthday.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! Anyway, I got him a present last night, a dvd, and got home, exhausted, and realized that I didn't have any wrapping paper.. so I made my own wrapping paper and a bow too!... Here is a picture of it... Dad really liked it so I am posting a picture of him holding it (this is for you Shelley... hee hee hee)... As you can see, it has my face, Dad's face, a heart and a birthday cake on it... it almost looks like real wrapping paper!

Hopefully the next month will be better! (But I will post before that!)
